Cat
Sparks is an Australian speculative fiction writer and graphic designer. From 2002-2008 she and Robert Hood ran Agog!
Press, which produced ten anthologies of award winning,

In
2004 she was a graduate of the inaugural Clarion
South Writers' Workshop in Queensland.
Highlights
of her career so far include: winning a trip to Paris in a
Bulletin Magazine photography competition; being appointed
official photographer for two NSW Premiers; working as dig
photographer on three archaeological
expeditions to Jordan, winning five Aurealis awards and eight DITMAR awards.

Three
of her stories were nominated for Aurealis Awards in 2007.
She was nominated for the Aurealis Peter MacNamara Conveners
Award in 2003 and won one in 2004 for services to the Australian
SF publishing industry. In January 2004 she won third prize
in the first quarter of the Writers of the Future competition.

of her 2005 American adventure. In 2007, Cat's story 'Hollywood
Roadkill' was awarded both the Aurealis
Award for best short science fiction story and the Golden
Aurealis for best Australian speculative fiction story of
the year. Her story A Lady of Adestan, published in Orb
magazine, won the best novella Ditmar in 2007. In 2008 she won the Aurealis award for best short fantasy story with 'Sammarynda Deep' from the anthology Paper Cities. In 2009 she won the Aurealis Award for best young adult short story for her dark near future tale 'Seventeen'.Check out her Wikipedia page and her Livejournal.
Cat lives
with her partner, author Robert Hood, and their three cats,
Smersh, Pazuzu and Nemo.
